Our Current COVID-19 Response

As you know, the world is experiencing a crisis in the form of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This has given investors ample reason to wonder about the security of their financial future, as well as their personal health and wellbeing.

Our number one priority is the safety and health of our employees and our clients in all locations. As have many institutions across our industry, Moors & Cabot is taking steps to ensure that we can continue supporting our clients to the best of our ability. We would like to share information about the plans we have in place in the hopes that it will help put your mind at ease when it comes to your accounts.

A Strategic Response

Moors & Cabot has established a cross-functional COVID-19 response team. We have prevention measures in place corporate-wide, and we are coordinating with local health officials, office facilities managers, and cleaning services for the health and safety of our employees and our clients.

Contingency Planning

We are taking both a strategic and a tactical approach to contingency planning and with our communication procedures to ensure business continuity. Core personnel have access to our offices to process incoming mail, and we have taken measures to ensure that clients who cannot send physical forms, letters of authorization, and checks can still seamlessly conduct their business.

Documents

Clients can now take pictures of completed forms and letters with a cell phone camera and e-mail them to their advisors as long as the following criteria are met:

  • The form must be complete, legible, and signed.

  • Copies of any required accompanying documentation is included.

  • The entire form must be pictured, including the bar code at the top and the version date at the bottom.

Please click on the icons below for examples of forms that are in good order and forms that are not in good order.

Mobile Capabilities

If you don’t want to have to worry about mailing checks or transferring funds, we recommend downloading the RBC Connect app. Through the app, you will have access to mobile check deposit and mobile ACH capabilities, allowing you to deposit funds into your Moors & Cabot account and initiate ACH transactions.

RBC Connect can be downloaded from the App Store and on Google Play:

Social Distancing

On February 25, the CDC released a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps are necessary to take in preventing the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 Community Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. For more in depth information, please review the CDC’s website regarding this new tool. Because of this update from the CDC as well as many states and local guidance loosening COVID-19 precautions recently, Moors & Cabot has updated its COVID-19 policies to be more aligned with new guidance. The following COVID-19 Safety Policy will be effective Monday, March 7, 2022:

Face Coverings:

  • Face coverings are not required in our offices at this time regardless of vaccination status. Moors & Cabot recommends that our employees and clients stay up to date with CDC guidelines and recommendations.

  • We ask that if you are feeling sick at all, to take advantage of our technology advancements and conduct any meetings virtually while you are ill.

There will always be someone from Moors & Cabot to answer a client call.

In-Person Meetings and Canceling Travel

The majority of business travel has resumed. Also, with updates to local, state, and CDC guidelines, we are now welcoming our clients back into the offices for client meetings. While we are excited to see you in person again, we ask all clients to respect the safety of every employee. We will not request vaccination or health status from you. We ask that you follow all local and building guidance and stay home if you feel sick.

We still encourage remote video calls or phone conferences as the primary way to engage with your investment professional(s). This situation will remain fluid and dynamic for the foreseeable future. Additional updates will be posted here.
