A veteran of over 35 years in the investment field, Rhodes is the third generation of the Palmer family providing investors with advice for more than 100 years. Prior to joining Moors & Cabot in 1998, Rhodes was with the former Advest, Inc. for 26 years.

Rhodes has a “Contrary Value Investment” approach to managing equity portfolios. This investment philosophy stresses that positive rates of return can be achieved by seeking out abnormalities and excesses in the marketplace. His portfolio management style is further characterized by a strong belief in the importance of pro-active versus reactive investing.

Rhodes specializes in tailoring a portfolio to each investor’s personal goals and objectives; as well as working for many fiduciary clients in managing trusts, estates, endowments and foundations.

Rhodes’ educational background includes Lockport Senior High School, Ball State University, the New York Institute of Finance and numerous annual continuing education courses and seminars. His professional associations include The Bond Club of Buffalo and The Buffalo Society of Security Analysts.

Active in the community, he spent more than 30 years with the former Miss America Scholarship Pageant; serving in various capacities including President and Chairman of the Board for the Miss New York State Scholarship Pageant. He was also Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Niagara Chamber of Commerce and Past President of The Tuscarora Club of Lockport. He presently serves as Campaign Chairman and board member of the Greater Lockport Family YMCA and trustee for The Barbara Ennis Foundation.

A life-long resident of Lockport, he and his wife Cherryl have one daughter, Mari Leigh and identical twin granddaughters.

Erik O’Keefe is a Vice President, Investments with Moors & Cabot’s Lockport, NY office. A veteran of more than 15 years in the financial services industry, Erik works with his clients to build and implement a sound financial plan that encompasses their investments, protection plan, retirement cash flow strategy, and legacy plan.

Erik is a Certified Financial Planner® and holds Certification for Long-Term Care. He is a graduate of Newfane High School and the University of Buffalo. He and his wife, Cris, reside in Lockport and are active members of Hartland Bible Church.
