Charlie Murphy joined Moors & Cabot in September 2016 and has over 28 years of experience as a financial advisor in the financial services industry. Before joining Moors & Cabot, he was with Merrill Lynch for 26 years and managed the Roswell, NM office. Prior to going to work in wealth management services, Charlie was in the banking industry for a number of years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from New Mexico State University. As well as having his securities licenses, he is also a fully licensed life, accident, and health insurance agent.


Charlie’s business is planning based and designed to achieve client’s goals for income and capital appreciation. He feels the client/advisor relationship is more like a partnership, and it is his responsibility to educate the client on what and why they are making a particular investment in an effort to achieve the anticipated return.

Charlie believes in being actively involved in the community and is currently in the Pecos Valley Rotary, past president of, United Way of Chaves County and the Salvation Army. He has also served on the City of Roswell Planning and Zoning Committee.
